About The Carpet Disposal Portal

Brought to you by Carpet Recycling UK

The membership of Carpet Recycling UK (CRUK), who manufacture, transport, recycle and retail flooring products in the UK, are passionate about improving the carbon footprint of the industry. All have the shared goal of enabling a more sustainable future, with the help of local and national Government, the supply chain and academia.

In June 2024 CRUK commissioned a comprehensive Freedom of Information (FOI) survey of every waste authority in the UK with the aim of learning about the options available to UK consumers across all councils postcode by postcode, as well as providing detailed data on the treatment of carpets and textile flooring waste across the country.

This study, the most comprehensive survey of carpets and textile flooring waste disposal ever undertaken in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland has resulted in many insights and data points that will help to inform future best practice and enable CRUK to provide valuable data to Government and regulators for future improvement of recycling levels.
